ARQAT Adopted A Mascot!

Updated: 2 days ago

The Wombat (Vombatus ursinus) or the bare-nosed or common wombat became the official mascot of the ARQAT in 2025. This was mainly the inspiration of founding ARQAT Board member and Vice-President, Dr. Joy Bowles, who hails from the land down under, Australia, and believes Wombats are creatures to be seriously considered.

Among their unique attributes is the ability to produce cubic poop. This appeals to the scientific and organizationally minded ARQAT members. What’s the connection? In the world of aromatic essential oil research, the complexity sometimes seems overwhelming. What does the wombat do? Takes it all in, processes it, and out pops a cubic package, all neat and tidy. Amazing right?

Are we serious? Yes, we love it when things are neat and tidy—look at our checklists! But we also know how to laugh and have fun.
