Michelle M. Cohen

Michelle Cohen holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ithaca College and a Master of Arts in Professional Writing and Publishing from Emerson College. She is a licensed massage therapist, certified pediatric massage therapist, and a clinical aromatherapist. Michelle is an Integrative Care Specialist on the Integrative Care Team at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. She is also a Global Ambassador for the Liddle Kidz Foundation, having traveled to India with a team of international healthcare practitioners to teach and promote pediatric therapeutic touch to vulnerable populations.

 

Michelle received her Registered Aromatherapist Certificate from the Aromatherapy Registration Council (ARC) and completed Tisserand Institute’s Essential Oil Safety Program. Michelle is a board member of the Aromatic Research Quality Appraisal Taskforce (ARQAT). She also serves as a co-chair with Donna Audia on the Clinical Committee of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists, where she has helped develop guidelines for the safe use of essential oils in the adult and pediatric clinical settings. Michelle has also helped develop and write the aromatherapy policy for University of Maryland Medical Center, where she provides education to patients and staff.

 

Michelle is a co-founder of just Be, providing education, training, and community outreach. Just Be teaches integrative self-care techniques to help nurture the body, mind, spirit, and soul. Michelle has been a guest speaker for Liddle Kidz Foundation lecture series in 2021 and has been an aromatherapy consultant for children’s hospitals. Michelle is a researcher, educator, writer, consultant, and speaker.
