Denise Joswiak
BSN, RN, HNB-BC, RA™, Certified Clinical Aromatherapist
Denise Joswiak is a board-certified holistic nurse and certified clinical aromatherapist. She creates aromatherapy programs for health care facilities and systems and published research on the effectiveness of nurse-delivered essential oils in ten hospitals. This strengthened her love of research and evidence-based care while creating an awareness that high-quality aromatics research is necessary to support safe and effective essential oil use in clinical settings.
Denise served as the Integrative Health Clinical Site Lead for United Hospital, co-facilitator of their Holistic Nursing Council, and co-chair on the Perinatal Quality Improvement Committee. She wrote the aromatherapy chapter in Holistic Nursing, A Handbook for Practice (8th ed., 2022). Denise serves on the American Holistic Nurses Association panel examining essential oils for pain relief, the Gattefossé Foundation Scientific Advisory Board, and as president of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists.
Denise is thrilled to be a board member of ARQAT. She is an author and international speaker, offering healthcare consultations and aromatherapy education through her company Essential Health. In addition to a passion for holistic health, Denise loves to travel, enjoys canoeing, and cherishes time with family and friends.
